A Complete, Tried-and-Tested, and Well-Researched Wazifa for Marriage. Review on Removing Delays and Obstacles in Marriage
Table of Contents
In Pakistani and South Asian Muslim society, delay in marriage has become a problem that hardly any household is spared from. In some cases, daughters’ ages keep increasing without a proposal coming; in others, sons cannot find a suitable match; and in still others, despite a proposal being settled, the matter never reaches Nikah. Researchers and scholars view this trend as a social and spiritual crisis, and there are many layered reasons behind it.
When this problem drags on, parents and young people often immediately assume that “we have been put under a spell” or “someone has cast an evil eye on us.” Whereas the reality is that the roots of delay in marriage are often embedded in our own social attitudes, personal character, and, at times, genuine spiritual obstacles. Markaz-e-Islam’s well-known spiritual guide Peer Bin Numan Rizvi Saifi Sahib has shed light on this very subject in one of his detailed video discussions, which we are presenting in this article with research and detail.
Islamic teachings declare Nikah to be an extremely easy and simple act. It is stated in a blessed Hadith that Nikah is the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and whoever turns away from this Sunnah has no connection with him (Sunan Ibn Majah). Despite this, the practice of Nikah, which the Shariah had made easy, has today become the most difficult stage due to our social attitudes. Let us understand in detail what the real reasons are.
The Three Major Reasons for Delay in Marriage — A Detailed Review

In his discussion, Peer Sahib identified three fundamental reasons, which we are examining here in a research-based manner.
First Reason: Social Customs and Material Demands
The biggest and most common reason is the unnecessary customs and material expectations that have taken root in our society. This includes several important aspects
- The Pressure of Dowry: In many households, a daughter’s marriage is tied to the amount of dowry. Until the parents have gathered the required goods and money, the proposal is not taken forward. Whereas Islam instructs that Nikah be kept easy and the Mahr (dower) be kept reasonable — not extravagance and show.
- Unrealistic Expectations: Standards such as the boy’s job, salary, house, or car, or the girl’s physical beauty and educational degree, are set so high that finding a suitable match becomes difficult.
- Caste and Family Prejudice: Some households limit themselves to their own caste, community, or area alone when seeking a match, which restricts the opportunities available.
- The Trend of Education and Career First, Marriage Later: Children are urged not to marry until they are settled with a PhD, a job, and a business, which causes their age to keep increasing.
- Excessive Spending on Wedding Functions: The custom of large halls, expensive food, and ostentatious functions turns marriage into a financial burden for parents, causing them to keep postponing it year after year.
Peer Sahib’s advice is that Nikah should be kept simple. As is proven from the blessed Seerah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he preferred ease and simplicity in Nikah. Parents should, as soon as their children reach maturity, arrange the match in a suitable place without becoming entangled in unnecessary customs.
Second Reason: One’s Own Character, Conduct, and Personality
The second, and perhaps the most overlooked, reason is our own character. Peer Sahib laid particular emphasis on the point that before blaming others or magic for any obstacle, a person should first hold themselves accountable.
This includes the following aspects
- Manners and Behaviour: Habits such as anger, rudeness, lying, bad character, or mistreatment of relatives damage a person’s reputation, and relatives consider them unsuitable for marriage. A well-known Hadith states that when someone whose faith and character satisfy you comes to you for marriage, then marry them (Tirmidhi). In other words, faith and character are the real standard by which society decides a match.
- Lack of Responsibility: Habits such as laziness, not making an effort despite unemployment, or addiction and bad company also become obstacles to marriage.
- Social Media and a Careless Lifestyle: In today’s age, inappropriate activity on social media also affects a person’s reputation in the eyes of the family.
- The Role of Parents: Sometimes the problem is not with the children but with the parents’ harsh temperament, inflexible attitude, or habit of rejecting proposals without reason.
Peer Sahib’s guidance is that in case of delay in marriage, one should first look within oneself, identify one’s shortcomings, and remove them. Blaming it on magic or the evil eye instead of admitting one’s fault is not a solution to the problem but an escape from it.
Third Reason: A Genuine Spiritual Obstacle — The Effect of Sorcery, Black Magic, or Jinn
Although it is not correct to assume that every delay is due to magic, Peer Sahib also makes clear that sometimes the matter genuinely involves sorcery or spiritual interference. In the light of Islamic teachings, the existence of sorcery is an established reality, and the Quran and Hadith contain numerous Wazaif and Taweez (amulets) for protection against it.
Some signs that indicate a genuine spiritual obstacle.
- Finding unusual splashes of blood or water, pieces of meat, or such objects in the house for which there is no logical explanation
- A proposal breaking off suddenly and without reason as soon as it is settled, the same kind of obstacle occurring again and again
- Severe restlessness, fear, or disturbed sleep without reason, which increases as soon as the topic of marriage comes up
- A family member showing an unusually strong emotional or physical reaction when the topic of the proposal is raised
In such a situation, it becomes necessary to resort to Shariah-compliant Ruqyah, recitation of the Quran, and a reliable and reputable practitioner. Here it is extremely important to note that one should not trust every practitioner who makes a claim, but should turn only to those knowledgeable and experienced people who treat in accordance with the Quran and Sunnah.
Wazifa for Marriage — The Complete and Tried-and-Tested Method
Along with paying attention to the three aspects mentioned above, Peer Bin Numan Rizvi Saifi Sahib has also prescribed a simple, tried-and-tested, and spiritually effective Wazifa, especially for those whose son’s or daughter’s proposal is fixed but is not moving forward, or who are having difficulty finding good proposals
Perform this practice after the Fajr prayer:
- Begin by reciting Durood Ibrahimi 77 times
- After that, recite this blessed name 313 times

- At the end, recite Durood Ibrahimi another 77 times and, with humility and devotion, pray for the success of your proposal
This practice is to be performed continuously for forty (40) days, without missing a single day, with sincerity of intention and complete faith. In Allah’s blessed name “Ya Aziz” lies the attribute of granting honour and dominance, while in “Ya Latif” lies the attribute of, with the utmost subtlety, making a servant’s difficulty easy beyond what he could imagine. This is why these two blessed names are especially recommended for removing obstacles in marriage.
Important Advice: This practice should be performed with complete faith and trust in Allah. While praying before Allah, one should hold the conviction in one’s heart that Allah Almighty will make the best decision at the best time. Peer Sahib says that whoever performs this practice with sincerity of heart and steadfastness will, God willing, definitely attain success.
Along with the practice, also keep these points in mind

Along with the Wazifa for Marriage, it is also necessary to follow a few other important principles so that Allah Almighty’s mercy is drawn quickly.
Observe Prayer (Salah) Punctually — strengthen your connection with Allah. When a servant’s relationship with his Lord grows strong, relationships with His creation also become easy on their own.
Seek Forgiveness (Istighfar) Abundantly — it is mentioned in the Holy Quran, through the words of Prophet Nuh (peace be upon him), that through the blessing of Istighfar, Allah Almighty grants abundance in sustenance, children, and other blessings. The same principle applies to the matter of marriage as well.
Give Sadaqah (Charity) Regularly — giving charity in difficult times is a tried-and-tested means of warding off calamities and bringing ease in sustenance and marriage.
Keep Watch Over Your Character — improve your personality and conduct within society and family.
Arrange Marriage According to Shariah Principles — arranging a match in a suitable place once children reach maturity is the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); give precedence to the rulings of the Shariah rather than merely emotional decisions.
Patience and Trust in Allah — there may be delay in Allah’s court, but never injustice. Continue the practice while placing your trust in your Lord.
Peer Sahib’s Own Experience
Peer Bin Numan Rizvi Saifi Sahib, recounting his own personal experience, relates that he raised his children and arranged their marriages not by relying merely on worldly means, but through the Quran, spiritual effort, and complete trust in Allah. He was not attached to any job, nor to any factory or office, but made the Quran and remembrance of Allah his means. Keeping the teachings of our Master (peace and blessings be upon him) before him, he fulfilled his responsibilities, and, praise be to Allah, all his children — sons and daughters — had their marriages completed with ease. This personal experience is living proof of how an act performed with sincerity of intention and steadfastness yields the best results by the grace of Allah.
What to Do If the Problem Is Complicated?
This Wazifa has proven extremely effective for ordinary obstacles and delays; however, sometimes the matter is far more complicated than this — such as a match that has been tied for years, severe sorcery or the influence of jinn, family disputes, or a repeated pattern of proposals breaking off. In such a situation, rather than relying merely on the general Wazifa, it becomes necessary to personally consult an experienced and reputable practitioner, so that the true nature of the problem can be examined and a Shariah-compliant treatment can be prescribed accordingly.
If you or anyone dear to you is facing an unusual delay in marriage, a repeated breaking-off of proposals, or any spiritual obstacle, then we invite you to definitely get in touch with Markaz-e-Islam. Our team and Peer Bin Numan Rizvi Saifi Sahib will listen to your problem in detail and provide appropriate guidance and a practical solution in accordance with the Shariah. In complicated matters, rather than trying a Wazifa on your own, obtaining expert guidance is the safer and more effective path.

A complete guide in the words of Peer Bin Numan Rizvi Saifi Sahib.
Delay in marriage does not have just one cause — it is a combination of social customs and material demands, shortcomings in personal character, and, at times, genuine spiritual obstacles. Islam has made Nikah easy, and it is precisely by adopting this simplicity, refining one’s character and conduct, and strengthening one’s connection with Allah through continuous prayer and Wazifa that lies the real solution to this problem. If this forty-day practice of “Ya Azizu, Ya Latifu” is performed with sincerity of heart and steadfastness, then, God willing, every obstacle to marriage will be removed.
